'Biscuits & Tea' - Coaches Tip
Weekend Cravings 👀👀
By @robcornwall2
I’ve read a book called the “Hungry Brain” from an obesity and neuroscience researcher that uses science to answer the questions: why do we overeat and what can we do about it ? 🐽
I’ve a few notes/tips which will be beneficial for people here struggling on their diet!
Basically he talks about how our appetites and food choices are led astray by ancient brain instincts, that play by the rules of a survival game ☠ and how these circuits don’t care about how you look in a bathing suit in Torremolinos 👙☀💁🏼♀
“TIP NUMERO 1 “
❌EFFORT BARRIERS❌
“It’s not worth eskimos the effort to locate and over eat mangos” ❄
What are you on about Rob?🤷🏻♂
An effort barrier is something to prevent you from acting on impulsive urges. Setting up barriers when it comes to cravings is simple yet effective.
Examples:
Taking a small amount of biscuits/treats with a cup of tea and then physically placing packet to the back of the fridge/press. ie the bleeding effort like🤦🏼♂
Hiding sweets in awkward places ie top of the press or bottom 🦑
Sweets with wrappers is an effort barrier believe it or not🍬
Tests this out and and see does it help ! 👍🏼
